About John Luton

John Luton is a long time Victoria resident, attended Esquimalt High and has a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Victoria. He has decades of experience working with federal Members of Parliament, provincial MLAs and Cabinet Ministers and spent several years running one of Ottawa’s most successful bicycle stores of the 1980s. In recent years he has been Executive Director of Capital Bike and Walk, advocating for and consulting on designing more walkable and bike friendly communities.

He is currently a sitting City Councillor in Victoria and also sits on the Victoria Regional Transit Commission, The CRD Water Commission and the Greater Victoria Labour Relations Association.

John is the city’s council liaison for the downtown community, he chairs the Standing Committee on Corporate Services and sits on the Environment and Infrastructure Committee.

John is married to Suzan. They have two children, Vladimir and Elena, who attend Victoria schools.
